San Diego Weather

San Diego California Weather - As a visitor to San Diego, you may claim that this is the most perfect weather you have encountered. The average annual temperature is 70 degrees and a typical day can be described as sunny and mild with low humidity. There is an abundance of sunshine throughout much of the year, but be aware that June can become a bit gloomy. The summer months are mild and spring brings a somewhat cooler climate. Occasional Santa Ana winds from the desert will affect the area, bringing heat and uncomfortability, especially during early fall. During this time, the climate can be generally mild along the coast, with inland temperatures getting warmer.

San Diego days are always warm, even in winter, so you will always have a chance to sport shorts and swimwear. Evenings are almost always cool because of the offshore breezes, so sometimes a sweater is in need during the evening. From mid-December through mid-March, you can witness the migrating of gray whales along the coast. In early spring, wildflowers decorate the mountain sides. As for the annual rainfall, it is usually less than 10 inches. Most of the rain occurs in January and February, but precipitation usually lasts for only part of the day, but never more than two days.
