San Diego Transport
San Diego Transport – San Diego has an excellent system of public transport
from buses, trolley buses, MTS – metro transit system. Here is some info on the
different types.
The San Diego Metropolitan Transit System (MTS) which operates the city buses.
Bus stops are marked by rectangular blue signs, which are located about every
other block on local routes.
You could also travel on the San Diego Trolley (619-685-4900), which runs to the
Mexican border, Old Town, and East County. A very comprehensive system, the
trolley goes to Gaslamp Quarter, Old Town, and Little Italy, as well as Fashion
Valley mall, Petco Park, and Qualcomm Stadium. It also goes to San Ysidro on the
Mexican Border so you can walk into Tijuana.
The Transit Store (619-234-1060) is located at 102 Broadway, a complete
public-transportation center, which supplies travelers with passes, tokens,
timetables, maps and brochures.
From San Diego Airport you can take a taxi or a Limousine. You could also take a
trolley or MTS but the stops are near the airport rather than in it.
Another choice in San Diego is The Coaster which only has a few stops but it
goes from San Diego center to Oceanside.
