San Diego Nightlife

San Diego California Nightlife - Music at local pop-music clubs serve up easy-on-the-ears rock to edgy alternative tunes from some of San Diego's finest up-and-coming bands. Dance clubs and bars in the Gaslamp Quarter, La Jolla, and at Pacific and Mission beaches tend to fill up during the weekends. If you crave authentic country-western music, you can find a venue to please you here. The softer sounds of music can be found throughout plenty of piano bars and smooth and relaxing jazz clubs pack in the masses.

Every Friday, you can check out The Reader, which is San Diego's free alternative newsweekly. If you’d like to find out where to go to enjoy an exciting night, pick up San Diego magazine's "Restaurant & Nightlife Guide" or the San Diego-Union Tribune (which publishes a weekly entertainment insert on Thursdays called Night and Day). There are plenty of rock and pop concerts to attend or trendy martini bars if you favor a drink. There are plenty of nightclubs, as well as and dinner-and-dance cruises on the bay for those who like to let loose on a dance floor. Go beyond the Gaslamp Quarter and hang out at Hillcrest and Pacific Beach, which are particularly happening at night.
