San Diego Museums

San Diego California Museums - San Diego's cultural scene has plenty of choices for you to choose from when you are ready to view some of the exhibits or browse about an interesting and entertaining museum during the day. You may choose to venture to the San Diego Art Institute, where you can view what the area schools have to offer. If you have the time, visit one of Balboa Park's museums or other attractions, including the Mingei International Museum, the Museum of Photographic Arts, the Reuben H. Fleet Science Center, and the San Diego Museum of Art.

This museum was one of the first in the United States exclusively offering the pleasure of viewing only photographic art. Admission is free on every second Tuesday of each month.

Come and explore this anthropological museum, displaying over 70,000 artifacts, folk art and archaeological finds from all over the world. Some attractions include mummies and ancient carved monuments.

Do you enjoy a good ghost story? When you visit this attraction, you will not only view artifacts and period furnishings from the 1870’s, but dare to enter where the story behind the museum is that the ghost of Thomas Whalley, a New York entrepreneur resided California during the gold rush, still roams the building.

When you visit this museum, you will be able to view fine paintings, entertaining sculptures.126 paintings are on permanent exhibition, as well as other works of art that are rotated throughout the year.
