San Diego Hotel and Travel Guide
San Diego California Hotel and Travel Guide - Come visit the country's
seventh-largest city and you will be dazzled by the Mediterranean climate of San
Diego, a city where the sunlight warms the soul and you will be able to explore
over 320 square miles of hills, canyons, as well as 30 glistening beaches.
San Diego offers many things for you to experience while touring the beautiful
city. Take a tour of Balboa Park, where you can view the beauty of interesting
eucalyptus trees, larger-than-life redwoods, water lilies, and the color
splattered everywhere. A very entertaining and respected zoo is located there,
where visitors can enjoy koalas to giant pandas, living beside more than 4,000
animals living in their natural habitats.
If you wish to enjoy an evening at the theater, look towards the entrance of
Balboa Park and you will find the Old Globe Theatre. It is modeled after the
theater during Shakespeare's time and is the oldest professional theater in
California. Along the park's main street, is the largest concentration of
museums west of the Mississippi, many of them housed within grand houses,
mansions and other inviting establishments.
Head on over to the Spreckels Organ Pavilion. Here you will encounter a
2,000-seat pavilion, which holds the 4,445-pipe Spreckels Organ, the largest
outdoor pipe organ in the world. If you are lucky, you will be able to catch a
year-round concert. If you’d like to shop around, seek out the Horton Plaza, a
multilevel shopping mecca located downtown, near the historic Gaslamp Quarter.
Here you will find the national historic district, where you can view most of
San Diego's Victorian commercial buildings. If you favor a nice cigar, visit the
Cuban cigar factory in the area.
A little closer to San Diego, you can travel to Mission Bay where you can enjoy
Sea World. A variety of dolphins, killer whales, seals and marine birds are
ready to entertain. Other attractions include the San Diego Wild Animal Park,
where you can see a variety of animals by riding a 5-mile monorail throughout
the park. If you need to find a place to entertain the kiddies, take them to the
Model Railroad Museum, where you can view loads of miniature railways.
There are lots of things to do while you Visit San Diego. When you are ready to
take a rest, you could stop off at the Kensington Club on Adams Ave where you
can enjoy a nice cocktail or beer. If you are hungry, you can replenish your
energy by stopping by the downtown joint of Bella Luna on 5th Ave for a healthy
serving of pasta.
